The most abused drug in America, second only to alcohol, is marijuana. And what the Orange County Marijuana Expo, held at the Anaheim Convention Center on Nov 19th & 20th, won’t tell you is how much damage the drug actually produces within the lives of millions of young people worldwide.
While we speak out about and regulate the sale of blood diamonds, how much human misery has the illegal growth, transport and sale of marijuana wreaked over the last few decades? Just take a look at the border wars with the United States and Mexico and it is easy to see that human misery is at the other end of drug consumption.
While the argument by those who put on and attend such a convention is to legalize this drug as a universal panacea for crime and increased tax revenue, these points fail to reveal the tremendous damage that this drug wreaks to our brains, our productivity, mental clarity and our overall spiritual well-being.
When the “facts” of marijuana come from those advocating their sale and consumption, it is easy to see that they have bought into their marketing machine to glorify and fortify their position.
